Charlie - I sent you a total of 8 photos showing us using the oven to cook the bread. If you want to get in touch with my neighbor, I can provide you with his name and phone number. He spent a lot of time on this project for me because it was a prototype - but he loved doing it. He is a millwright by trade and top-notch welder, etc.

I'm really pleased with the oven and the work he did. He lives right next door to me down here in Trenton FL and would be open to doing any work for you. If he does make any future ovens for you - he would probably make the unit about 1 inch shorter to get a better fit sliding into the fireplace - but this was his first try and I'm really happy with the work.

He is now going to build me a couple of other things for the fireplace - like a solid plate at the base, etc - just little modifications that will help me with my outdoor cooking endeavors. Okay -please let me know what you think of all this - by the way - just had a piece of the bread and it doesn't taste smokey or anything like that - tastes just like my usual bread recipe - yeah!

 I am happy to report that we have had tremendous success with our first attempt at utilizing the prefabricated "oven" that my neighbor welded for me.

 Please note that I am going to use the high-heat rustoleum paint (black) to paint the outside of the oven, but was so anxious to try it this weekend, that the paint job will have to follow.

My neighbor will probably add a handle on the door in the future - but not necessary. The oven has a side latch and the door lifts out. There is also a venting system on the top which may be adjusted accordingly. I am absolutely thrilled with the results of the bread.

I took a basic bread dough recipe and the bread turned out perfect. The last frame I will send you shows the completely cooked loaf cut in 1/2 so you can see that the heat was even and there was no doughy center. First try and it worked - I can't believe it.
